Yahoo sucks these days...

Sure - the profit results are good, Yahoo is back on track but they need to pay Terry Semel a little less money and fix their technology. It just keeps getting slower and breaks more. Sometimes my email just does not work and now the Asia Yahoo Groups system is broken. Middle of the day here in Asia so pretty much a peak period or official working time. Been down since 11:35 HK time.

Also Yahoo, buy real software or pay someone for a support contract. Looks like mySql broke - again:

Welcome, dreampipe

YAHOO NEEDS TO HIRE NEW TECH STAFF, NEW PR PEOPLE, AND A NEW CEO! YAHOO IS NO LONGER FOR SERIOUS USERS.

they are already slow enough now they ahve added a couple popups telling you how to get rid of popups. go figure. When shecking my mail the flash takes forever to load. Im on DSL. Cant imagine someone on phone modem. I have six sites hosted theer i am in the process of moving. The yahoo editor is total crap and has been that way for some time. Cant understand why they dont do anything about it. Conclusion : Yahoo Sucks.

Thanks for the comments folks. Keep em coming. So I sent an email using my premium account, which must mean nothing to Yahoo, about a bunch of lost mail. Mail is still gone and no response from Yahoo. So they keep sucking and it goes to show that the premium mail does not mean any added service at all. Bummer.

I hope someone takes them out...

Yahoo is cheating too....

We launched a website, named Chinese960.com recently, which is decidated to teaching people how to speak standard Chinese mandarin. We paid $300 bucks for adding it to their directory, guess what, they put our URL in a Business-2-Business category. We only got 2 clicks from Yahoo for the last 2 months. When we ask them to change our category based on common sense, they said you can pay more money for a sponsored service, without answering our question.

When we asked them to give us money back, they send us a single URL linked to the agreement (no refund of course) without a single world to explain, how rude!

We guess there must be more stories like this.

Yahoo not only sucks, but also cheat on people!

Yahoo = Cheater

Yahoos Liberal Bias is showing more and more each day!

Hi, I agree that Yahoo sucks, too. I was kick out because of a TOS violation. I didn't even know it and they won't give me back my yahoo id. They're a bunch of idiots.

Hey, I create an AOL "Yahoo Sucks" group:

Hope that you can join.

I would love to join the AOL yahoo bitch group but I hate AOL too so I would rather not. Just to note that yahoo has never gotten back to me with any response at all - I find it rather odd but I guess they have decided that it just is not important to them. I figure this is just the way it works when you have a massive service with tons of customers. I can undderstand them never returning an email when it comes to the free service but I thought for sure that premium services would get some sort of response. Interesting. Well google will kick their ass when it comes to search - I cannot remember the last time I used yahoo for searching anything. I honestly just use it for email since I have had my address for so long. I guess I should smarten up and get an email on my own domain but I just love the simplicity of using Yahoo.

Oh well

anyway - yahoo still sucks.

I signed up for Yahoo Personals last year.. $99.95 for 1 year. I had no idea it was a recurring fee. I only wanted one year. So I was surprised when I saw a charge for $99.95 on my credit card this month. When I called to cancel they said they have a "No Refunds" policy. Me. "But you charged me for 1 year and I never use the service and didn't want to get charged again!" She just kept saying, There is nothing I can do.

Yahoo Sucks.
Common Sense means nothing to them.

They will learn that customer service does make a difference. Their 'screw you' attitude will be their downfall.

I use Yahoo Business Edition for email - it takes several hours for my emails to get delivered!

Yahoo sucks!

I signed up for the premium Launcast radio service at $35.99 a year. I was under the impression that I could build my own radio station with my favorite artists on it. Come to find out - even WITH premium service, you only hear your favorite artists if THEY have signed an agreement with Launchcast. So all I heard was my B list artists over and over again. This is an issue that was raised in their own user group!!! So I stopped listening - like 3 months after I signed up. I promptly forgot all about it (after discovering the beauty that is live365.com)

Just like Michael, I never DREAMED I'd automatically be charged for another year. I talked to a customer service guy, then his very VERY mean supervisor. I even quoted their website to them: http://docs.yahoo.com/info/values/

"Customer Fixation:
We respect our customers above all else and never forget that they come to us by choice. We share a personal responsibility to maintain our customers' loyalty and trust. We listen and respond to our customers and seek to exceed their expectations."

Well that's just crap. They are unethical thieves with no concern whatsoever for their continued corporate success in the long run, they are just going to keep pissing people off and losing them and (God willing) fade away some fine day.

Yahoo sucks!

I can't contribute insight like those here; I just got PO'ed when Yahoo took my password without explaining and without cause. I looked for cracks in the "TOS" but it seems bulletproof. Specific violations are spelled out then other language says basically "You can be terminated at a whim". I'm going back to using the phone to contact people. It's more expensive but more reliable and enjoyable. I use Verizon, but that is another argument altogether, as they make everyday life more difficult too....
- Another corpse cooling on the shoulder of the road...

Yahoo is getting slower and slower because of all the spyware that is being loaded when you go there.

I wrote a post about using the new gmail from google - one very noticed feature is how much faster it is than yahoo mail. such a bummer.

I have had Yahoo Messenger for quite some time now and I really like to listen to Yahoo Launchcast Radio but lately, I cannot get connected to it, supposedly because of Internet Explorer but I think it is Yahoo instead. Yahoo keeps advertising Launchcast Plus but from the comments I have read on this, I will not sign up for anything from Yahoo.......I am really fed up with Yahoo big time.

yahoo limits on email in and out...never explained, never disclosed....even if you are a premium member. they fail to mention it in their site ANYWHERE. automatically renewing memberships....the hallmark of cheezy organizations and porno sites...and YAHOO!

alphabetizing lists by...FIRST NAME....gee they must have a lot of twelve-year-old premium members who create lists like "annie, bambi, chrissie, dottie, emma and fern." YAHOO SUCKS and doesn't serve its premium members.

If you are thinking about spending any money to upgrade your YAHOO account DO NOT DO IT! Save your money and go elsewhere.

Looking for a new way to com with friends. Got a few suggestions from here.
Thanks.

Yahoo has crossed the line. They are supressing freedom of speech now. There was a user group at Yahoo that was called "whatreallyhappened" It was a liberal political blog. The moderator posted a picture of bUSH holding his hand up showing the sign of the devil, (some folks call it the "hook em horns") That was enough for them to shut down the group. YAHOO SUCKS. I sent them a nastygram and imediatly got an excite email account. I am now in full blown boycot YAHOO mode.

Posted by: wilburcarp | Apr 23, 2005 7:37:19 AM

Yahoo dropped my 8 year old site from their search results for some unknown reason. I guess this is the new Yahoo that prefers scum sites to real content. Their lack of customer service and they way Google is kicking their ass, in a few more years they will only be known as YAH-WHO.
