Fun fun...

Been a crazy but productive month. Basically been on the road all month and based the travel out of Bangkok for ease of connections. Yes - the official reason. ;)

I like all the heat Thaksin and cronies are getting in Thailand. It is clear - Thaksin and team are using their political power to enrich themselves, family members and friends. It is so blatant. I doubt anyone can do anything about it given the way state of Thai politics but I am happy they are getting some heat. How obvious is it when career politicians who routinely only make 50-100k per year (US) have an amazing assortment of houses, property and businesses. Go figure.

This looks like a real good read - need to check it out.

Ate a simple but good eating Ethopian place in Bangkok. Sukhumvit Soi 3. Abysinna Cafe I think it is but I need to double check the name. Just walk down Soi 3 from the Nana cross area and stay on the right side. You will see it - right across from the Zenith hotel. Good eats, coffee and a nice place to hang out and chat. Check it out.

India was busy with all the techies filling the hotels and planes and the financial community out filling the bars trying to numb the pain of the big stock market dump. Politics in India is a strange beast for sure. Hard for me to understand it all but I think the new regime has lined up their basic agenda and the world is feeling a little bit better. Unless of course you are in the BJP party.

Thanks to the gang at Hypnos for taking care of things when I left my credit card at the restaurant. Nice group of people for sure.

In Tokyo now on the way to BEA eWorld in SF. Looks to be a good one.

I think that is it. Trying to stay awake. Partied one night at the Narcissus Club in Bangkok. This is where Oakenfield put on a show recently. Have to admit - this is a pretty good scene. Just people dancing, drinks and some real good tunes. Good fun.

That should do it.

Harley's in vegas

We had a great time. The weather could have been better but we had fun none the less. Nice little ride out into the valley of fire - tooled around and then back to vegas. Would have ridden all day and into the night had it been warm.

The best ride for cruising was the fatboy in my book but the vrod was fun. Quick, nimble and looks so cool both from behind the handlebars and parked. I could accelerate so fast and with the seating position (your face is the front of the bike) - my head would sometimes feel like it was going to get blown off. So fun.

For getting harley's in vegas. Waste no time - visit Las Vegas harley. They were awesome. Great bikes, fantastic service and a bus back to your hotel. Quality shop - a huge rental collection and one of the biggest for-sale inventories I have ever seen. Thanks guys for a great day.

Dishonorable mention. Eagle Riders. I won't even list their number or URL. They just suck. The internet booking confirmed one day before our ride. They were clueless on the phone and their selection sucked. Please don't bother.

Also - customer service at vegas hotel sucks huge! Here is the scenario. Go to army of concierge people at the concierge and activity guest relations desk at the MGM. Hey - got any info on renting Harley's in vegas? She looks back like she has seen a ghost - why would she know about that. Let me think for a minute - you are a concierge in Vegas for starters? Well - she defers us to the golf booking desk since she might have a telephone book. Wow - what service. Offer us the yellow pages. So mosey to the golf desk and ask to use the YP - no dice. She has like 5 of them but she is afraid we will walk off with them. Could you get us a few numbers then? Nope. She does not have time. BTW - we are the only people talking to her and there is no one in line. She says to ask the belldesk for the YP. Great. We do. They say - walk over to the payphones across the lobby. Awesome. You nitwits are amazing. I was so irritated at the run around. MGM sucks.

Time Off Book is out!

My ex-coworker Kristine finally got her new book out. She is suppose to save me a signed copy too.

Either way - go check it out. It is an un-employed guide to SF. Many people still need it. Let's hope it gets better soon but in the meantime if you don't have a job - get the book. If you do - quit and buy the book or just buy the book and wish you had time off. That is what I will be doing.
